Transtar Transportation, Inc., founded in 1986 by Mr. Robert T. Gaye, operated a full fleet of Sedans, Limousines, Motor-Coaches and varied mass transport vehicles. Beginning in 1990 Transtar operated the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise multi-service concession at the Orlando International Airport. Corporate growth continued when Transtar was awarded the contract to provide Luxury Transportation services for the Walt Disney World Complex in 1993.
In 1995 Transtar found the opportunity to create a new segment and an opportunity to expand the services offered to the Central Florida region and it’s guests by bringing Star Taxi, Inc., an incorporated Subsidiary, to the market. Star Taxi, Inc. immediately set the precedent for metered transportation in the region. By maintaining the same exacting standards as his company was founded upon, Mr. Gaye instilled in his Taxi operation the need to be world-class. Operating the most current and well maintained fleet Star Taxi, Inc. quickly grew to the premier metered service in Central Florida.
Permitted and Governed by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and the City of Orlando Star Taxi, Inc. is Central Florida’s source for professional and reliable Taxi service.
With the catastrophic occurrences of September 11, 2001 Transtar was unable to continue its operation at the same level as years before. On October 17, 2001 Transtar ceased operation and Star Transportation Management, Inc. was created to continue providing world-class service to the Central Florida Market.
